This is the perfect art class for kids 1st – 6th grades who want to improve their basic drawing and painting skills.
Each week’s lesson is rooted in learning the style of a famous artist. In addition to exploring the techniques developed by these masters, we also learn and refine basic elements of art and principles of design such as color theory, value, form, space, texture, balance, proportion, etc.
Overall, students can expect to finish this course with a sketchbook full of drawings, paintings, and pastels that display growth and understanding of art fundamentals and a love of art history.

ALL MATERIALS FOR CLASS ARE PROVIDED.
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS YOU MAY WANT TO PURCHASE FOR HOME:
- Mixed Media Sketchbook
- Sketching pencil set
- Basic watercolor set (even Crayola is good, just ditch the plastic brush)
- Watercolor paper (such as Canson XL)
- Round watercolor brushes (Get a student set or if just getting a few, sizes 4, 8, 12 would work)
